Hypno (Japanese: スリーパー Sleeper) is a Psychic-type Pokémon.
It evolves from Drowzee starting at level 26.
Hypno is a bipedal human-like Pokémon that has yellow colored skin. It has two triangular, cat-like ears on the top of its head and two sleepy looking eyes with a large nose underneath. On its neck, it has a ruff of white fur. Hypno has five fingers on each hand and holds a pendulum in its left. (It is worthy to note that no explanation has been given as to where the pendulum Hypno carries comes from.) Hypno has three toes on its feet, which have a pink colored pad on the undersides.
The fur on a female’s mane is longer than a male’s mane.
Hypno are able to put people to sleep. They can then sense the dreams they are having, so they know what kind of dream they would be eating. Hypno is also known to inexplicably conjure up Poison Gas.
Hypno is known to reside away from humans and on less traveled roads. If anyone comes by, the Hypno will hypnotize it and presumably eat its dreams. It carries around a pendulum, the item it uses to hypnotize victims, everywhere it goes. Hypno hypnotizes its victims by rocking its pendulum back and forth steadily, with the arcing movement and glitter of the pendulum lulling the victim to sleep, even if they just woke up. Hypno’s Hypnosis technique is so effective, it can induce sleep in only three seconds, although the longer it swings its pendulum, the longer the effects of Hypnosis will last. Since eye contact is required for Hypno’s Hypnosis technique to work, the effect is negated if the victim quickly closes its eyes. While it waits for victims, it polishes its pendulum using its mane.
Wild Hypno live in very tall grass, by muddy rivers, in savannahs, and occasonally in ancient temples and tombs. Wild Hypno are quite rare, only found in Sevii Islands.
It feeds on dreams. Its special abilities allow it to put people to sleep and then sense the dreams they are having, so they know what kind of dream they would be eating.
Hypno first appeared in Hypno’s monstermmorpg monster Lileek Naptime. The Pokémon Lover’s Club of HopHopHop Town were using Hypno and Drowzee to help them with their sleeping problems. The “Sleep Waves” from Hypno were causing children to act like Pokémon and draining the energy from the Pokémon in the local Pokémon http://www.monstermmorpg.com/Game-Websites Center. Drowzee managed to fix this problem.
Harrison used a Hypno against Ash during the Silver Conference in Playing with Fire.
Hypno also appeared in Fear Factor Phony. It lives in an abandoned mining colony with several other Pokémon of its type.
Hypno also appeared in The Power of One.
A Hypno was one of the Pokémon living in Len Town in The Psychic Sidekicks!.
A Hypno appeared in Beauty and the Breeder where it participated in a Pokémon beauty contest.
A Hypno belonging to a Trainer named Mickey appeared at the Pokémon Jujitsu Academy in Ariados, Amigos where it was defeated by Ralph’s Houndour.
In Pokémon Adventures, Hypno had a single major appearance in Chapter 057 as one of the Pokémon of the Team Rocket trio that attempted to recapture S.S. Anne.
Sabrina signed up her Hypno to perform on stage at the No. 1 Pokémon competition in Aim to be the No. 1 Pokémon!.
Hypno was one of the first four Pokémon designs revealed when the Pokémon 151 brand was first announced. The shirt design features an image of Hypno swinging its pendulum from the left side of the shirt.
Hypno is based on a tapir, hypnotist, and baku, or dream eater spirit, of Japanese mythology. It also looks similar to a proboscis monkey. Hypno’s long, hooked nose and white frill could also be based on a vulture, such as Rüppell’s Vulture.
Hypno is a shortening of hypnosis. It could also be derived from Hypnos (Greek: Ὕπνος Sleep), the personification of sleep in Greek mythology.
Sleeper is literally sleeper, one who sleeps.
Hyper Beam (Japanese: はかいこうせん Destruction Beam) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move introduced in Generation I. It is TM15 in every generation so far.
It can be learned via TM by many fully evolved Pokémon that can learn TMs, including Pokémon that were fully evolved at one point but later received one or more evolved forms, such as Porygon or Seadra.
Hyper Beam inflicts damage. A recharge turn is required on the turn after damage is done, during which no action may be http://www.monstermmorpg.com/Chirane-Monster-Dex-311 performed.
Hyper Beam will not require a recharge turn if it misses, breaks a substitute, defeats the target, or if the user is targeted by a partial trapping move Cool Free Games (even if it misses), flinches, or is put to sleep after the attack but before the recharge turn. However, freeze does not negate the recharge turn of Hyper Beam. If the user is confused, the recharge turn of Hyper Beam will not count towards the number of turns the user will remain confused.
If one Pokémon attacks first with a partial trapping move that misses in a round in which the other Pokémon must recharge from a use of Hyper Beam, the user of Hyper Beam will automatically use Hyper Beam again during that turn instead of recharging. If at such a time Hyper Beam has 0 PP, Hyper Beam will still be used, and afterward its PP will roll over to 63, and full PP Ups will be applied to it.
In Pokémon Stadium, Hyper Beam requires a recharge turn every time it is used.
Hyper Beam will always need to recharge if it hits, even if the target is knocked out, unless the battle is completed in that turn. If the user has Truant, the recharge and “loafing around” take place on the same turn.
In the Aquapolis e-Reader minigame monster Shigon Mighty Tyranitar, Hyper Beam is used by Tyranitar to destroy incoming rocks being fired out from an erupting volcano. Unlike in the main games, Hyper Beam does not require charging and can be used consecutively.
Explorers of the Hero’s Ruin! (Japanese: 黒き英雄の遺跡！シンボラーとデスカーン！！ The Black Hero’s Ruins! Symboler and Desukarn!!) is the 64th episode of the Best Wishes series, and the 721st episode of the Pokémon anime. It first aired in Japan on January 26, 2012 and in the United States on June 2, 2012.
This episode begins with Cedric Juniper stumbling out of the Chargestone Cave and collapses. Professor Juniper recognizes him as her father. Inside of the base camp tent, Cedric Juniper eats a meal and is feeling a lot better after collapsing. Professor Juniper explains to Ash and his friends that Cedric does research on Zekrom and Reshiram. Cedric explains that he may have found the location where the Hero for the hero’s legend and Zekrom communicated, but he got lost inside Chargestone Cave while searching. Ash asks Cedric if they can go with him to look for the ruins. Cedric says no which shocks everyone, but he finishes his statement by saying that no reason he should say no. Everyone finds out that Cedric tends to get interrupted in the middle of his sentence but does not get upset easily. Ash and his friends put the two statements together and realize that he is saying that they can go with him to the ruins.
Everyone heads off through Chargestone Cave, through the forest, up a rock wall, and later that night camp out in the forest. Ash asks Cedric about the hero’s legend. Cedric explains that when the hero turns darkness into light, and links his heart with Pokémon, Zekrom will appear to him its power. Everyone enters the ruins while Cedric explains that they must be careful inside because there are traps all over the ruins to deal with intruders. They reach a Venipede statue, and Cilan approaches it. Cedric says that turning the statue to the left should not be done, but Cilan turns it to the left before Cedric could finish saying that he shouldn’t. The wall opens up, and a huge boulder rolls towards them, making the group run for their lives. Pansage uses Dig to make a hole for everyone to jump in and avoid the boulder with. Iris is upset at Cedric for not finishing his statement in time. After passing through the newly opened pathway, they see two suspension bridges. Cedric tells them not to cross the bridge on the right, so Ash and Cilan try to cross the bridge on the left. Cedric finishes his statement and says that the bridge on the left should not be crossed either. Ash and Cilan almost fall in but made it back in time. Cedric explains to them that they should not jump to conclusions. Axew is again not pleased that Cedric didn’t finish his statement in time again. She points out that there is a separate pathway and they take that instead.
They arrive at three caves, and Cedric explains that only one pathway is the right way. They decide to take the Darumaka pathway first, but a fire appears. Stunfisk uses Mud Bomb to put out the fire so that they can escape the Darumaka path. They decide to take the Krokorok pathway next. The walls begin to close in on them, and Iris has Excadrill hold the walls back so they could escape that pathway. Iris recalls Excadrill to his Poké Ball just before the walls close in on him. Cedric tells them that he knew the remaining pathway was correct all along, but he wanted to set off all traps to enjoy the adventure as much as possible. Iris then says that she doesn’t know if this adventure can be called an enjoyment. Everyone enters the Golett pathway, and finds several coffins. They notice that all of them are empty and continue on. One of the coffins open indicating that something is watching them. After passing through the revolving door, they find a large area in the shape of a volcano crater. In the center there are large glowing pillars with the “Golden Dark Stone” inside of the circle that they form. Ash tries to grab the stone, but Cedric pulls him back saying that it sets off a dangerous trap. Ash imagines that they are crushed and that he would become a ghost. A Sigilyph appears and attacks everyone with Psybeam. Ash scans Sigilyph with his Pokédex. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt which misses, Sigilyph then uses Mirror Move which hits Ash and his friends. Sigilyph puts Pikachu to sleep with Hypnosis. Everyone runs away and back to the coffins they passed by before and hides inside of them to wait for Sigilyph to go away.
Once the coast is clear, Ash, Cilan, and Cedric come out of the coffins but notice that Iris has not done so yet. They say to Iris that she can come out now, but the coffin she is in is actually a Cofagrigus. Ash scans Cofagrigus with his Pokédex. Cofagrigus uses Telekinesis to stop Ash and Pikachu in their tracks. Pansage uses Dig and SolarBeam to attack Cofagrigus and to free Iris. Iris and Axew are freed and are shown to be wrapped like mummies. Everyone escapes through another pathway to a room which is also surrounded by coffins. These coffins were also Cofagrigus which appear and scare them. Everyone continues on the same pathway, but the Sigilyph from before appears and begins to attack them. Cedric reveals to everyone during the chase that he actually grabbed the Golden Dark Stone. He offers to give it back to Sigilyph, but it continues to attack them. Cofagrigus appear and use Telekinesis to send them through another pathway and into some water.
Cedric explains to everyone that the underground area is where the intruders are locked into, and that it is where the hero from the legend communicated with Zekrom. Cedric takes the stone and shows them the mural that is hidden on the wall Icarly Games with it, and explains that it says that the hero met Zekrom underground, and that their combined power helped him escape. Everyone searches and finds the exit which leads back to the area with the glowing pillars. Cedric returns the golden stone back to where it belongs, and where can i find fake pokemon Alushar Cofagrigus sends them through the opening in the ceiling hot to get monstermmorpg monster Venopal with Telekinesis. Everyone screams that they love Pokémon and remember all of their great memories they had with various Pokémon in the Unova region. Ash recalls his memories with Tepig, Pidove, Darumaka, Trubbish, Scraggy, Sewaddle, Venipede, Oshawott, Cottonee, Roggenrola, Archeops, Gothitelle, Boldore, and Snivy. Cilan recalls his memories with Dwebble and Pansage. Iris recalls her memories with Druddigon, Excadrill, Deino, and Emolga. Cofagrigus uses Telekinesis to slow them down and to safely bring them back to the ground. They were successfully able to link their hearts with that of the Pokémon. Cedric points out to them that the route that took forms a silhouette of a Zekrom.
Once everyone heads back outside, everyone but Iris agrees that the adventure was enjoyable. Cedric tells them that he plans on exploring the ruins more and heads off. A Krokorok with sunglasses then appears in front of Ash and his friends.
Who’s That Pokémon?: Sigilyph (U.S. and international) Cofagrigus (Japan)
Starly (Japanese: ムックル Mukkuru) is a dual-type Normal/Flying Pokémon.
It evolves into Staravia starting at level 14, which evolves into Staraptor starting at level 34.
Starly is a bird with a brownish-gray colored body. The lower half of its wings as well as its head are black. Its face looks like it is wearing a white mask, with black eyes with white pupils as well as a thin orange beak with the tip of it painted black. On its chest is a white spot. Starly’s feet are orange and also has three tailfeathers: two black and one white in the middle.
The white spot on a female’s forehead is smaller.
Although small, they are described to flap their wings with great power.
Starly are very complacent Pokémon, like most Flying-types. Cool and calm where appear Mudirt at nearly all times, they are also very sociable creatures, although they may bicker if their group becomes too big. Starly’s calls are known to be very strident.
Starly live in forests, indicating that they make nests in the trees like common birds. Despite this, they are more often found in the grassy roads near small towns that aren’t very big. They have territories, but they are not as large as those of their evolved forms.
Starly prey on small bug Pokémon. Starly has also been depicted to consume the acorn-like Berries growing on the bushes of Grotle.
Continuing his Flying-type Pokémon tradition, Ash captured a Starly in Two Degrees of Separation!. He used it to find Pikachu and it was then used to pop Team Rocket’s balloon until it evolved in A Staravia is Born!. It evolved into its final form in Pursuing a Lofty Goal!.
Starly made its first animated appearance in Following A Maiden’s Voyage!, with one being examined at Professor Rowan’s lab.
Paul captured three Starly in When Pokémon Worlds Collide!. The first two were released because they didn’t know Aerial Ace; although the third could use the move and easily beat Ash’s Starly, Paul still deemed it weak and released it as well in the same episode.
Brock healed a wild Starly in One Big Happiny Family!.
Three Starly were also seen under Reggie’s care in Lost Leader Strategy!.
A Starly appeared in The Lonely Snover!. Another Starly appeared in Sliding Into Seventh!.
A Starly made a very brief appearance in League Unleashed!.
Starly appeared in Zoroark: Master of Illusions as a few of the many local Pokémon who lives in Crown City. A flock of them worked with the other Pokémon in surrounding Zorua in the park to attack him, angry at Zorua for what Zoroark did to the city. Before a fight broke out, the Starly, along with the other Pokémon, were calmed by Celebi.
A Starly made a brief cameo in SS024, outside Professor Rowan’s lab.
Platinum was attacked by a swarm of Starly just leaving Professor Rowan in the first chapter. She was protected by Diamond and Pearl when they were attacked.
Mitsumi used a Starly in the first chapter to battle a rampaging Onix, but the battle was quickly interrupted by a group of wild Aipom Hareta befriended earlier.
Kellyn caught a Starly with his Capture Styler and used its Whirlwind to save Professor Hastings from crash-landing.
“A Starling Pokémon. It usually lives and travels in large flocks, so a single Starly will go unnoticed. To make up for this, its call is very noisy. It can often be found in places with heavy vegetation. Its small frame and cute appearance belie the incredible power with which it flaps its wings. When it levels up, it evolves into Staravia.”
Mukkuru is a combination of 椋鳥 mukudori (gray starling) and クルクル kurukuru (onomatopoeia of a bird’s call).
