Gastly (Japanese: ゴース Ghos) is a dual-type Ghost/Poison Pokémon.
It evolves into Haunter starting at level 25, which evolves into Gengar when traded.
Gastly appears to be nothing more than a black ball of ghostly matter or gas that is surrounded by a purple glow of smog. Gastly has big, white eyes and a mouth with a pair of fangs in it. Gastly’s face is similar to Cloyster’s, but the two Pokémon aren’t related.
Due to having a body made of gas, Gastly can slip into any Black And White place it wants. However, Gastly’s body will dwindle away when exposed to a strong wind but it can probably regenerate itself later. A Gastly is capable of toppling an Indian Elephant within two seconds by enveloping it in poisonous gas.
Despite Gastly’s evolutionary level, it is quite powerful at using special attacks such as Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Thunderbolt, and Energy Ball. Gastly can learn quite a few moves with all sorts of disruptive effects such as Will-O-Wisp, Confuse Ray, Hypnosis, Taunt, and Embargo.
There have been claims that on rare occasions, a Gastly can gain the ability to speak like a human and transform itself. However, it apparently can communicate with telepathy.
Gastly can learn and use the elemental punches, despite appearing to have no hands. Though it can create hands from its gas.
As a Ghost-type Pokémon, Gastly tend to be pranksters that go scaring people just for the fun of it. They are also proficient at sneaking up on unsuspecting prey and putting it to sleep or poisoning it through their skin. As Gastly’s body is blown away by wind, groups of them gather under the eaves of houses to prevent being blown away.
Gastly live in old, dilapidated buildings and can also be found at cemeteries. It is a common sight in Kanto, Johto, and Sinnoh.
As the victims of Gastly’s gas enveloping technique have been called prey, it can be presumed that it derives energy from them. It may also lick its prey.
Gastly first appeared in The Ghost of Maiden’s Peak. This Gastly had the ability to talk and shape-shift. He kept posing himself as the spirit of the woman which legend said turned to stone after many years of waiting for her love to return to her. The first time a regular Gastly appeared was in The Tower of Terror. Ash and his friends went to Lavender Town in search of a Ghost-type Pokémon to aid Ash in defeating play with fake pokemon Killipede Sabrina. It reappeared in a flashback in the following episode.
An Officer Jenny owned a Gastly in Pikachu Re-volts. This Gastly appeared to be the only Pokémon not affected by the psychic wave caused by Butch & Cassidy’s Drowzee.
Morty used a Gastly to battle Ash in From Ghost to Ghost. In the same episode, multiple Gastly hypnotized Team Rocket.
A pair of Gastly were among a group of Ghost Pokémon living in an abandoned mine in Fear Factor Phony. The Ghost Pokémon couldn’t stand the partying Psychic Pokémon that lived in the nearby town, so they created a Haunter-like illusion to scare everyone away.
A Gastly appeared in For Ho-Oh the Bells Toll!.
A Gastly made a brief cameo appearance in Giratina and the Sky Warrior.
Gastly first appears in Volume 1 of Pokémon Adventures under the ownership of Koga, possessing the corpses of dead Pokémon in Pokémon Tower. Red’s Bulbasaur manages to defeat it by sucking up the surrounding air with its bulb, along with Gastly’s gaseous form, and expelling it in a SolarBeam. In the process, the two also freed Red’s rival Blue, who was under its ghostly possession.
Gastly also forms as part of the Ghost-type army Agatha sends out to attack the Gym Leaders. She also has a Gastly as a member of her main team.
Morty also has a Gastly which was used along with Misdreavus to battle Suicune.
The Masked Man also used a Gastly in his team to capture Celebi, due to its type advantage. It was purposed to possess intruders that entered the Ilex Forest. Later, during the fight at the Indigo Stadium, it impaired Suicune using its Curse technique, locking it and Misty inside Suicune’s crystal wall. It was later defeated by Eusine’s Haunter.
Many Gastly also appear in the Diamond & Pearl chapter when Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum spend the night in the Old Chateau.
In Get Rid of The Ghost Pokémon!!, while Red, Clefairy and Pikachu were in Blue’s mansion, they stumble across a Gastly that Clefairy ends up battling. However, since Blue didn’t officially control it, it is unknown if it belongs to him.
A Gastly appeared in Which One is the Real Clefairy!? while Red had a confrontation with Giovanni and his twin brother. This Gastly was out of its gas form.
A Gastly took part in a baseball match in Fierce Competition at the Pokémon Baseball Tournament!.
A Gastly was with Green in PM042. However, it is unknown if the Gastly is actually his.
Giovanni was revealed to have a Gastly when he was coming up with three grand schemes in PM047
Black owns a Haunter which evolved from a Gastly.
Gastly seems to be based on general cartoonish ghosts and spirits, or maybe a will o’ the wisp. It may also have been based on the Japanese youkai sōgen bi, the decapitated head of a monk whose head is doomed to wander the Earth, consumed by fire. Its Poison-type is most likely a reference to poisonous or polluted gases.
Gastly may be a combination of gas and ghastly (dreadfully frightening or horrible).
Ghos is a shortened form of ghost and may also incorporate gas into its name.
Candid Camerupt! (Japanese: かちぬきファミリー！４VS４！！ Kachinuki Family! 4 vs 4!) is the 46th episode of the Advanced Generation series, and the 320th episode of the Pokémon anime. It was first broadcast in Japan on October 9, 2003 and in the United States on October 9, 2004.
On their way to Fallarbor Town, Ash, Brock, May, Max, and Pikachu are in the middle of the desert with no water left. Pikachu faints due to heat exhaustion, and soon the other four do the same. Fortunately, a Camerupt finds them.
The Camerupt and Victoria rescues the gang and bring them to her house, giving them plenty of water to help them. Victoria and her family—Victor, Vicky, and Vivi—are farmers, whose house is the only one in the area, so they don’t get visitors often. Victoria and Victor’s eldest son Vito, who left two months earlier, is revealed to be a Pokémon Trainer on a quest of his own to become the Hoenn League Champion.
Meanwhile, Jessie, James, and Meowth are trapped in the heat of the desert too. Soon they fall over from exhaustion, and they are given food and water by Vito. Vito is on his way back to his family after realizing that he prefers raising and taking care of Pokémon rather than battling with them. Though he is worried that his family will be disappointed that he is not returning as a champion. James empathizes with Vito since he ran away from home after not living up to his family’s expectations, and offers to help Vito out.
After Ash and the gang recover, they offer to do something in return for the help they got. In response, the family reintroduces themselves as the Winstrate Family, and challenge the gang to a Pokémon battle. Because there is no one else around, they get bored battling each other.
They start a four-on-four Pokémon battle, with Max borrowing Corphish from Ash, on a surprisingly professional-looking Pokémon field that the family built. The battle starts its first round with Victor and his Zigzagoon versus Brock and his Mudkip. Mudkip opens by using Water Gun, which Zigzagoon dodges. Zigzagoon shockingly responds with a Thunderbolt, ending the battle with just that one move. Vivi explains that since there are no power plants around, the family taught Zigzagoon that move to generate power for them.
The second round begins with Victoria and Roselia versus May and Beautifly. May immediately gets fired up by Roselia due to her rival Drew having a Roselia as well. Beautifly opens the battle with a Gust quickly followed by Silver Wind, both of which hit their target and Roselia goes down, ending the battle.
The third match is Max and Corphish versus Vivi and her Marill. Max has trouble concentrating because he has a crush on Vivi. Max tries to instruct Corphish to wait for Marill to attack, and block with Harden, waiting for Marill to get tired. However, Corphish doesn’t listen, and rushes into the battle, quickly ending the match against Marill on his own. Vivi gets angry with Max and says she hates him, breaking Max’s heart.
The final match is between Ash and Vicky, though since the Winstrate Family has lost two of the three rounds, the worst case scenario for Ash is that the battle ends in a tie.
Meanwhile, Vito and Team Rocket arrive at the front of the house, with James continuing to be confident that he can talk to Vito’s grandmother, Vicky, about Vito not becoming Hoenn League Champion. Since the house is empty, Vito assumes that the family is in the Pokémon battlefield, so they go there and begin watching the battle between Ash and Vicky in hiding.
Vicky sends out her Camerupt and while Ash chooses Pikachu and immediately sends out a Thunderbolt, which is a direct hit. However, since Camerupt is a Ground-type on top of being a Fire-type Pokémon, the Thunderbolt has no effect. Ash and Pikachu try again with a Quick Attack, which is also a direct hit but to much more effect. Vicky tries to get Camerupt to stand up by asking it what it would do if Vito was watching, not knowing that Vito really was watching. Camerupt gets up and uses Sandstorm, followed by a Take Down, but Pikachu fights back with an Iron Tail to the face before Camerupt can make contact.
Vito and the rest of the family pull out hard hats and warn the others to find cover, and Vicky reveals that Camerupt have a nasty habit of getting uncontrollably angry after being hit in the face and use Eruption. Sure enough that’s what happens leaving Ash and the gang to run in fear and try to dodge the flaming rocks from Chrome Games Eruption, with a couple of the rocks hitting Team Rocket. In anger they take off, leaving Vito to talk to his grandmother on his own.
Camerupt continues to chase Pikachu around the field with its Eruption going off, but Pikachu trips and Camerupt runs right over Pikachu. Camerupt is confused and continues to rampage straight towards the family’s crops, so Vito sends out his Alakazam and tells it to use Rain Dance to stop Camerupt. The move is successful and Camerupt calms down and stops before reaching the crops. No one realizes where the rain came from and assume it was luck.
Thankful, Vicky concedes the battle to Ash, but the joy doesn’t last long as Jessie, James, and Meowth appear in their balloon and take Pikachu. Vito realizes that the three aren’t as good as he thought, and they announce how grateful they are to Vito for leading them there so they could capture Pikachu. The family is shocked to hear Vito’s name, and Vito decides to pay Team Rocket back by using Alakazam’s Psychic attack to rescue Pikachu.
Team Rocket try to steal Pikachu again, but Vito summons his Swellow and has it use Wing Attack on Team Rocket’s balloon, sending them blasting off again. Vicky recognizes the Swellow and knows Vito is hiding. Vicky talks loudly enough for Vito to hear, and says how she shouldn’t have pushed Vito to become a Pokémon Trainer. She continues by saying if Vito found something else that he really enjoys, then that is what Vito should do because there’s nothing wrong with chasing your dreams. Vicky just wants him to know that whatever he does, his family is right behind him. Vito is thankful for his grandmother’s words, and he leaves to make his dreams come true.
Ash and the others get ready to leave, so as a send-off the family pulls out their hard hats and has Camerupt use Eruption again. The gang runs off in fear, continuing on their journey to Fallarbor Town.
Sparky (Japanese: レオン Leon) is Ritchie’s main Pokémon, even though it was not the first of his Pokémon introduced. It is distinguished from other Pikachu by a scruff of fur on the top of its head.
Prior to meeting Ash, Ritchie had always kept Sparky in a Poké Ball just like his other Pokémon, but as seen in later episodes, Sparky has always been outside of its Ball. It is unclear whether Sparky or Zippo was Ritchie’s first Pokémon.
In its first appearance, Sparky worked with Ash’s Pikachu to take on Team Rocket when the latter couldn’t do it on his own. Both Pikachu defeat Jessie’s Arbok with Agility and Thunderbolt. Sparky was the last Pokémon sent out during Ritchie’s match with Ash, where it automatically won when Ash’s Charizard became disobedient and refused to battle. During Friends to the End, Sparky was once again the last one sent out when Ritchie battled Assunta after both sides were down to one Pokémon. Sparky was having trouble keeping up with Ivysaur as ThunderShock was rendered useless when it was blocked by Ivysaur’s where to catch Blazedillo Vine Whip. During the battle, Sparky lost to Ivysaur’s SolarBeam, eliminating Ritchie from the competition.
It reappeared around the end of Hi Ho Silver… Away! while Ash and his friends were on their way to see a mysterious Pokémon. During A Parent Trapped!, Team Rocket set up a trap that will capture the parent Lugia by using Silver as bait. The gang knows about this and Ritchie has Sparky try to stop the parent Lugia from getting to the child so it won’t get captured. Butch and Cassidy won’t allow that and use a device that will power their Pokémon, even making them more aggressive. Sparky wasn’t successful in stopping the parent and the parent gets captured by Team Rocket. In the next episode, Dr. Namba chooses Sparky and Ash’s Pikachu as test subjects for the device the duo used earlier on their Pokémon. Before Dr. Namba tries it out, Oliver comes in and rescues Ash, Ritchie and the gang from the evil genius. However, Dr. Namba trips the alarm which summons Team Rocket Grunts, Butch and Cassidy. The duo have a rematch with Sparky and Pikachu using their Hitmontop and Houndour respectively. Both Pikachu aim their Thunderbolts at the machine powering up the Pokémon, destroying it. Both Hitmontop and Houndour are rendered useless without the machine and are taken out by Sparky and Pikachu. After Team Rocket is defeated, Sparky goes up against Dr. Namba’s Electabuzz and has trouble with it. However, Sparky destroys the machine Dr. Namba was using and Ash’s Pikachu defeats Electabuzz.
Sparky reappears in the special, Oaknapped! where it tries to stop Butch and Cassidy from getting away with Professor Oak after Ritchie and the others found the location he was kidnapped. Cassidy’s Sableye takes on Sparky to stall them from stopping Butch running away with Professor Oak. Later, Sparky Thunderbolts Sableye causing it to land on Butch’s Mightyena. In Celebi and Joy, it finishes off the workers when Ritchie thought that they were going to demolish the Pokémon Center. In The Search for the Legend, Sparky travels with Ritchie on the S. S. Anne to Knot Island. They arrive at Mt. Ember and notice the volcano containing Moltres. Butch and Cassidy arrive to take the Moltres but Sparky stops them with Thunderbolt while Silver tries to save Moltres with Salamence.
Sparky appeared in a flashback in BW116.
Sparky appears in the manga series The Electric Tale of Pikachu, which is based on the anime. In http://www.monstermmorpg.com/Icebragled-Monster-Dex-784 VIZ Media’s English translation of the manga, it is named Chuchino instead of Sparky.
Sparky first appears in Welcome to the Big Leagues when Ash has it mistaken for fake pokemon game map Battle Town his Pikachu. Ash meets Ritchie when he found out the other Pikachu was actually his. Later, Ritchie wins his first match using only Sparky. In the fifth round of the Novice Tournament of the Pokémon, Sparky was sent out after his Butterfree was taken out by Ash’s Squirtle. It went up against Ash’s Pikachu and both Pokémon traded similar attacks to each other. Their last attack, Thunder, knocked out each other.

Trials and Adulations! (Japanese: 激突！マンムーＶＳボスゴドラ！！ Clash! Mammoo VS Bossgodora!!) is the 119th episode of the Diamond & Pearl series, and the 585th episode of the Pokémon anime. It first aired alongside DP120 in Japan on March 26, 2009 and aired in the United States on August 15, 2009.
Ash and his friends hike through the forest as Dawn tries to sip from her water bottle, finding it empty. She decides to go to a spring to fill it, so Ash and Brock sit down to wait. Dawn approaches the spring and starts to fill her bottle when a wild Aggron fires a Hyper Beam at her. Dawn slips on the rocks, causing her and Piplup to fall into the river.
Dawn washes up downstream, realizing that she has gotten separated from Ash and Brock. She checks her Pokédex and gets information about Aggron. Ash and Brock head over to check on Dawn, finding her dropped water bottle. They realize something’s wrong when the same Aggron attacks them. Pikachu tries to defend, but gets knocked aside. They flee the location, losing Aggron. Ash wonders why Aggron attacked them when Brock notices that the local rocks are rich with iron. Since Aggron feeds on iron, Brock assumes that it was guarding territory. To help search for Dawn, Ash summons Staraptor and Gliscor to scout from the air. Meanwhile, while Dawn tries to find her friends, Team Rocket follows her and decide to steal her Pokémon. Dawn runs into a cloud of white smoke as Team Rocket confronts her and recites their motto. Jessie tries to lasso Piplup but misses. She brings out Yanmega as Piplup fires BubbleBeam. Yanmega dodges and fires AncientPower, but Piplup dodges and launches Whirlpool, hitting. Dawn suddenly stops battling and grabs Piplup before running away. Team Rocket wonders why when Aggron appears and attacks Team Rocket with Hyper Beam. They manage to hide from Aggron as it leaves, James using his cards to identify Aggron, realizing that Aggron was the reason Dawn ran off.
While Ash and Brock continue to search for Dawn, clearly getting worried, Dawn decides to bring out Buneary and Pachirisu so they can fire their moves into the sky and attract attention. Buneary’s Ice Beam gets Team Rocket’s attention while Pachirisu’s Discharge gets Aggron’s attention. Aggron shows up and attack’s Dawn and her Pokémon, making them run away, Team Rocket watching from the top of a hill. Dawn runs until her Pokémon stop at the edge of a cliff, Aggron cornering the group. With no choice but to battle, Dawn brings out Mamoswine and tries to where can i find monster Ribbish get it to use Take Down, but Mamoswine chooses to lie down and sleep. Dawn tries to motivate it with a Poffin, but Aggron’s attack proves to be a better motivator, angering Mamoswine into attacking. Aggron uses Double-Edge to knock Mamoswine back. Mamoswine fires Ice Shard, but Aggron uses Ice Beam to stall. Aggron follows up with another fierce Double-Edge, knocking Mamoswine back. Mamoswine’s body mass lands on the cliff in front of Dawn, crushing the rock. The collapsing cliff causes the ground to drop away as Dawn and her Pokémon fall. Mamoswine lands hard on its right side at the base of the cliff while Dawn and the other Pokémon land on top of it. No one notices a large rock smashing into Mamoswine’s exposed left hind leg. Team Rocket observed the melee as Aggron attacks them again, making them run off.
At the bottom of the cliff, Dawn checks her Pokémon, noticing Mamoswine now has a severe leg injury. Dawn wants to recall Mamoswine so it can rest, but she discovers that Mamoswine’s Poké Ball is missing. Knowing that Team Rocket and/or Aggron could appear at anytime, she decides to move Mamoswine under a large tree, give it a bed and hide it. She summons Ambipom, having her use Focus Punch to break tree branches down, using the leaves to form the bed. Dawn feeds Mamoswine a Poffin and gets it to move to the bed, with the help of her other Pokémon. They use more tree branches to conceal all but Mamoswine’s face and the injury. Dawn remembers what Brock taught her about treating her Pokémon. She remains calm and reassures Mamoswine, of which it takes notice of. Dawn finds a plant (presumably Aloe Vera) that in a flashback Brock reveals eases pain in a Pokémon’s wound, due to a gel-like substance inside the leaves. Dawn has her Pokémon retrieve more, and she uses the gel to treat Mamoswine’s leg injury before wrapping it. Piplup fills a bucket with water using a down-sized Whirlpool, and Buneary uses Ice Beam to freeze it for an ice pack. Dawn remembers that they now need Oran Berries. She goes off with the other Pokémon to search, http://www.monstermmorpg.com/Bmx-Games-Online remembering that she needs to look for moist soil to find them. Dawn spots the berries up on a cliff, and asks Ambipom for help. Ambipom gathers the berries, and at Dawn’s request, near-by bunches of bananas for when Mamoswine is feeling better. They bring enough back to Mamoswine and Dawn gives Mamoswine an Oran Berry.
Sunset falls as Ash and Brock find the ledge where Dawn fell, Pikachu finding a Poké Ball. Meanwhile, Dawn and her Pokémon overhear someone approaching. Dawn peeks around the tree and spots Team Rocket. They hear Aggron roar in the distance and want to hide up in the tree that Dawn is at. Dawn asks Ambipom to scare Team Rocket away, which she does by sneaking behind Team Rocket and smashing a rock into the ground to mimic a powerful stomp. The tactic works as Team Rocket flees. Afterwards, Dawn decides to recall her other Pokémon, but they all refuse, wanting to stay with Mamoswine. Aggron approaches nearby, so Pachirisu runs off and rustles some bushes in the opposite direction, luring Aggron away. Night falls as Ash and Brock take shelter in a cave, putting off the search until the next morning. They surmise that the missing Poké Ball may be Mamoswine’s, meaning that it is also somewhere lost with Dawn. Back at the tree, Dawn’s Pokémon sleep, but Buneary notices Dawn still tending to Mamoswine’s injury. Buneary creates another ice pack to replace the first one as Dawn finishes up and goes to sleep.
The next morning, Ash and Brock continue to search as Team Rocket seeks out Aggron in a Golem mecha. They spot Aggron and attack, but Aggron easily knocks the mecha aside. Team Rocket fires a missile, knocking Aggron down momentarily. It gets back up and launches Double-Edge, knocking the mecha into the large tree Dawn is at and revealing Mamoswine. Dawn tries to protect Mamoswine as Staraptor spots them, leading Ash to the spot. Team Rocket fires another missile as Mamoswine suddenly gets up and deflects it with its tusks, revealing that its leg has healed. Ash and Brock reach Dawn as Mamoswine charges and knocks the mecha aside, forcing Team Rocket out. Pikachu rushes forward as Jessie has Yanmega use Steel Wing. Pikachu dodges as Yanmega then turns around and fires AncientPower, but Pikachu dodges again and fires Thunderbolt to roast Yanmega and send Team Rocket blasting off.
Aggron is ready to attack as Mamoswine flips Dawn and her Pokémon onto its back. Dawn realizes Mamoswine wants to battle as a team, which it confirms as the rest of her Pokémon cheer. Mamoswine charges forward and blocks Double-Edge with its tusks on Dawn’s order. Aggron’s Hyper Beam is also blocked as Mamoswine obeys Dawn’s request for Ice Shard, hitting before following up with AncientPower, knocking Aggron down and making it retreat. Dawn celebrates as Ash and Brock praise her. Dawn mentions how she utilized the skills Brock taught her as Mamoswine walks off-screen and Ash hands back Mamoswine’s Poké Ball. Dawn decides to feed Mamoswine the bananas that Ambipom picked, but Mamoswine is already happily chowing down. With Mamoswine on Dawn’s side, the journey continues.
